Breach
Breach is a first‑person, narrative‑driven experience developed in Unreal Engine 5 that examines the concept of chaos through immersive environmental storytelling. Rather than relying on traditional combat mechanics, the project guides players through a deliberate four‑act narrative arc: Order, Chaos, Shelter, and Aftermath. Set within a meticulously recreated 1990s‑era domestic home, the experience begins in familiarity before abruptly collapsing into catastrophe, using spatial design and atmosphere to communicate emotional transformation.
As the environment deteriorates, players progress toward a claustrophobic underground bunker where the story concludes in silence and decay. This confined setting forces reflection on loss, isolation, and the lasting impact of sudden upheaval. The project places a strong emphasis on original asset creation, with all 3D models built in Maya, demonstrating advanced technical proficiency in environment design, lighting, and visual cohesion.
By prioritising mood, detail, and player presence over action, Breach showcases the team’s ability to craft a high‑fidelity narrative experience within a limited interactive space, highlighting the power of environmental storytelling as a primary narrative tool.
