Unfiltered

Unfiltered is a visual information design project that examines the influence of social media influencers and the impact their content has on young females in Ireland. Presented as a series of infographics, the project explores what defines an influencer, the realities of influencer culture, and both the positive and negative effects associated with this lifestyle.

The work focuses specifically on how influencer‑driven content can shape attitudes, behaviour, communication styles, self‑image, and perceptions of success among young people. By breaking down complex social issues into clear, accessible visual formats, Unfiltered highlights the significant power influencers hold over audiences aged 12–18.

Through research‑led content and carefully considered design, the project aims to raise awareness of the psychological, social, and cultural impact of influencer culture. Unfiltered encourages viewers to engage critically with the media they consume, offering insight into how curated online personas can affect self‑esteem and decision‑making, while also acknowledging the opportunities and positives that digital platforms can provide.
